SP86 is a computer class where students

learn to use their assistive technologies.

These technologies include screen readers, voice recognition, adaptive keyboards, and other assistive technology.

This term, students will work on Internet navigation and other computer programs. Students will  have an opportunity to create their own personal home page. Personal home pages support a user’s ability to easily navigate and use the Internet. These web pages will be free. Each will have 25 mega bites of space for any  texts, pictures, and other files.

Students will be able to use their personal web page for school, social, and/or business purposes.

First, each student must choose a name for their home page. The name can reflect something about themselves, the purpose of the web page, or anything else that will help a person coming to the web site understand its purpose.

Next, each student will write a short description about themselves and what they intend the home page to represent. Photos can be added to the page. These files will be uploaded to the web site by the instructors.

Each student will be able to improve their homepages as their computer and Internet skills increase.
